QUCOX DT

Composition

  • Tranexamic Acid 500 mg + Mefenamic Acid 250 mg Tablets

Indications

  • Primary dysmenorrhoea and pain associated with menorrhagia in women.

Description

  • Tranexamic acid is a anti-fibrinolytic agent. Tranexamic acid inhibits fibrinolysis by blocking the binding of plasminogen and plasmin to fibrin, thus preventing dissolution of the haemostatic plug.
  • Mefenamic Acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 and -2 (COX-1 and -2), thus resulting in reduced rate of prostaglandin synthesis. It exhibits analgesic and anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties. Inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis accounts for their analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.
